According to Don THE place to go for a bagel is Eisenstein Bagels, except there is no such place. Seems that Don has been exiled to Tennessee for so long that he has forgotten that the name of the place at 2570 S. Decatur Blvd. is Einstein Brothers bagels.

    Bon appetit!

I, personally, wouldn't walk across the street either at home or Las Vegas for a bagel.

It's good to see that one of Don's fans from that newgroup is posting over here too.

    That's pretty funny there, Charles.

To move a little bit closer to an "on topic" discussion, here's a view of where the high Nevada unemployment figures are coming from:

    http://elkodaily.com/news/local/article_b07d68a0-c590-11df-852c-001cc4c03286.html

Big numbers in the south- not so big numbers in the north. So, following this logic, everybody down south should vote for Sharron and everybody up north for Harry (because, according to what I see on the TV ads, state employment is all Harry's doing).

    RW,

I know that you are not John Payton. First of all you can spell, and second, you do not appear to be a cowardly, racist POS! I was trying to use sarcasm to try to convince you that I am not "Chuck" or even "Charles".

I have never had any problem in finding posts by the "real" Chuck. He is up to well over 100 by now. Evil or Very Mad

    Sorry Charlie, not very convincing.

Again, to throw a touch of Vegas related stuff into the discussion, here's a story from Wendover on an attack on Vegas Vic's brother:

Thank you for the concession of your actual identity.

Benchly is a good guy that chose to join under that name. He is a good guy, and I kinda like him.

I suggest that everyone that joins this group do so under an assumed name. Stops a holes and wierdo folks. We live in a world where trolls and freaks are looking for information on people. A FINANCIAL SVCS Rep recently took thousands of names, addresses, SSN's and sold them.

I use my real name, but that is me. Smile

Everyone who's read posts made by Chuck, knows you're Chuck aka "Gary" on alt.vacation.las-vegas. The only attempt you've ever made at canceling your identity, is masking your headers and changing your name to "Gary" or "Benchley".
Outside of that; you look like a Chuck, walk like a Chuck and quack like a Chuck.

Eh, so long as he does not get out of hand (my view) he is fine.. So long as he is civil and I don't get up one morning tired of his crap...he has a home here. Smile It's a free country and he has his right to his Vegas views!

People don't have to agree with me or anyone else either here. Actually, It's better for the functional utility (IMHO) that views are respectfully and openly shared.

There was a guy that would tell me how nice to see me in the Am, every day for 25 years. I never quite trusted his rusty ass because he was so sweet, nice, polite and smiled a lot. Thats cool and all, but I spent all day in the casinos / hotel end negotiating and getting things done. So, people that told me "Great to see you Mr. Strevel" every day I was just a little suspicious of. I respected him, would give him a ride home if his car broke down, but I would not have included him in a confidential brain storming session. People that looked me in the eye and told me to go straight to hell, I like them. You at least know what the hell you are dealing with. Great relationships come from that type of understanding.

SO, if he wants to be here, its our group, not just mine alone, I am happy to have him here. Just be polite, nice, tip your hat kinda stuff Smile

They just need to be shared civily, politely without name calling / ref TOS.

I have fought my entire life for human rights, labor rights (and responsibilities of the worker). I feel a rant coming on, but I'll just deal with it in silence.

I disagree or agree not so much with any Vegas related subject, but more as to the tone that it is presented in. Whether I agree or disagree is absolutely not important. This is not a forum where moderated means "controlled". Or where the moderator is a "SOB bully. We have every right to have different views, different experiences and different "anything". As time goes on there will be many many views that I disagree with that will make it on here, and stay here. If we can disagree in a civil fashion and not follow the nasty and uncivil patterns of avlv, WE WILL DO FINE, and we will grow in popularity.

Personally, I enjoy controversy, different views and experiences, trip reports and you guys starting polls as well. If you want to have one and the setup process for the poll does not work, let me know and I will set it up for you. What the hell good is "Freedom of Speech" if you are to ~Chicken Shit~ to use it!?

As this forum developes into a full forum you will begin to see how important your views and experiences are to others. This is truly about you, your view, your Vegas experiences, etc,.. It will never be about me. I have even gone as far as giving the passwords and codes to my eldest son in LA so that when I croak your experiences, conversations, etc... will continue. I am not 18 anymore and in a real world have more years behind me than in front.

You are the boss. Benchly Stepflug is animportant and valued member of this group that is just more open and honest than others. We are about Las Vegas, not others attitudes, views or ego related issues. We need his <and yours> independent flair to enhance us, so long as he does not try to burn the damned place down Smile, hahahaha.

Everyone have a great day and ..."dream of Vegas".

    Don
