The Las Vegas Monorail is a fun way to glide above the traffic of Las Vegas and get to some great various destinations. Take a look below and see what is going on right now.

Have you ever ridden the monorail. What is your experience? Would you be interested to know that it is not the only monorail in Vegas!! It is not the only monoril here in Vegas!!

The monorail isn't the deal it used to be. I actually think that the "ACE" is as good a way to go as any.

If you are a conventioneer and are staying at some casino/hotel on the line, its a great deal. You get on , you get off and you are at your hotel. However, the alternative is just not an acceptable option for me. The alternative is to get in a line with so many others all trying to get cabs, drive by some nice guy from NYC thinking that he can hail from the curb, fight luggage.... Me, in that situation you would not be able to keep me OFF the tram.

However, since I am a Las Vegas resident and do not attend conventions usually, I'll just take the darned bus, or call a friend (by pre-arrangement) to pick me up.

There are many ways to get around in this beautiful city. The tram (some call it the monorail, I do, too) is just one of many options.

Technically, I believe there is a difference between a tram and a monorail. (i.e., a tram is like the thing running between Mandalay Bay and Excalibur.)

But it begs the question of what you would call a "Big Chicken"?

If I were to see a chicken big as a turkey, I'd fill my pants and get away from it!

If i were to see it on a bus, tram or a cab, I'd just get the hell away from it.

Las Vegas has a lot of great ways to get around. Many of the houses have private shuttles buses to get you around. You can be on the Strip and still get to the Orleans using their private shuttle. This is just one example of the shuttles. They have them all over town.

Costs too much. Stations are too far back in the hotels. Too many free shuttles and trams to use instead. The ACE and DUCE are easier to get onto and off of.

I wish I was able to find disagreement with your correct view. The monorail was made to move conventioneers, IMHO. To use it any other way is like eating soup with a fork ...its all there, just not there correctly. I agree with your view.

This is where the shuttles come in good. You can be about anywhere and get anywhere here in town just by using the shuttles that the casinos provide. A few months back a neighbor took me all the way to the Orleans via shiuttles and etc... We had lunch and took way to much time getting back. Shuttles are nice, but they can also take to much time.

I was waiting on the shuttle, smiling, thinking "I'm getting freaking old here". It was true. Smile

I have found that driving my own vehicle in Las Vegas is a better option, as I imagine most locals do.
